Radon Mitigation York PA is a radon reduction service for homes and buildings in York and the surrounding York County area. We do one thing: lower radon levels, and prove it with a clearance test. Our work is done by DEP-Certified Installers who follow Pennsylvania's mitigation standards on every job.
PA DEP certification: number provided on every written quote
Who we are
Every person who designs or installs a system for us holds the PA DEP certification that state law requires. You will see the certification number on your quote and on the label attached to your system.
Why we only serve York
We focus on York and the surrounding county on purpose. York County is in EPA Radon Zone 1, the group of counties with the highest predicted radon levels. Local test data shows how common high readings are here, and you can see it for yourself on our York County radon levels page.
York's housing also takes local know-how. Many homes here have fieldstone or block foundations, dirt-floor sections, rowhome party walls or a basement on one side and a crawl space on the other. Working in one area lets us learn those houses well, quote them accurately and get to you fast.
How we work
Every job follows the same four steps, so you always know what comes next.
- Free written quote. We look at your foundation, slab, sump and pipe routes, then give you a written price before any work begins. Our standard system is priced at $935 to $1,320.
- One-day install. Most homes are finished in a single day. Our core service is radon mitigation system installation using sub-slab depressurization, with sealed piping, an outdoor or attic fan, a gauge and a permanent label.
- Clearance test. After the system has run at least 24 hours, and within 30 days, a follow-up test confirms the result, following EPA guidance.
- Written guarantee. If the clearance test is not below 4.0 pCi/L, we keep working at no charge until it is. That is our clearance guarantee, and it is written into every quote.
We are open 24 hours. Call any time and you get a same-day callback. If you are buying or selling, tell us your closing date and we will schedule around it.
The standards we follow
Pennsylvania is one of the few states that certifies radon contractors. Under the Radon Certification Act and 25 Pa. Code Chapter 240, anyone who tests or mitigates radon for someone else must be certified by the PA Department of Environmental Protection.
Section 240.308 of that code sets the installation rules for homes three stories or less. Every system we install follows them:
- The exhaust points straight up and ends at least 10 feet above the ground and 10 feet from operable windows and doors.
- The fan is never placed below grade, in a basement or crawl space, or in your living space.
- The floor-wall joint, open cracks, channel drains and utility openings are sealed, and open sump pits get a sealed cover.
- Every system carries a permanent label with the installer's name, DEP certification number, contact details and install date.
- You get written information on how the system works and a reminder to retest at least every two years.
You can learn more about the state program at the PA DEP Radon Division.
What we will not do
We will not give you a low phone price that grows once the crew shows up. We will not post made-up reviews or claims. And we will not leave you with a system that has not been tested.
